Lululosophy is Turning (RED) June 1st-June10th

We're super excited to team up with (RED) and Iron Chef Mario Batali for 10 days of Eat Red, Drink Red, Save Lives!

Let us tell you more about this campaign and how it works!

WHAT IS EAT (RED). DRINK (RED). SAVE LIVES?

For the first time ever, from June 1st-10ththe culinary community is turning (RED) to raise money and awareness for the fight against AIDS.

Led by Chef Mario Batali and master meat purveyor, Pat LaFrieda, food and drink businesses around the world will serve-up delicious (RED) culinary experiences to raise money for the Global Fund to fight AIDS. From London to Hong Kong, New York to Dubai, restaurants, food trucks and bars will harness the growing interest in all things culinary to #86AIDS.

WHAT IS (RED)?
(RED) was created by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to engage millions of people in the greatest challenge of our time – the fight to end AIDS in Africa where 2/3 of the world’s estimated 35 million people with HIV/AIDS live. They work with the worlds most iconic brands from Apple to Beats By Dre and have engaged the culinary community this year, targeting Michelin-rated chefs to food trucks and everything in-between.

WHAT IS #86AIDS?

The term ‘86’ is used in the food industry to indicate that an item on the menu is gone. It’s not available on the menu anymore. It’s nixed. And that’s what we want to see happen with AIDS. It’s time to begin the end of AIDS. And we can do this. We are at a pivotal moment in the fight against AIDS where we can deliver the first AIDS FREE GENERATION in over 30 years. Every day 700 babies are born with HIV. We can help get that number close to zero. It’s not a question of can we, but will we?

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

To date, (RED) has generated more than $250 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, to support HIV/AIDS grants in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia. 100 percent of that money goes to work on the ground – no overhead is taken. Global Fund grants that (RED) supports have impacted more than 40 million people with prevention, treatment, counselling, HIV testing and care services.

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL FUND & HOW DOES IT USE (RED) DOLLARS? (RED) was created to help provide a sustainable flow of money from the private sector to fight AIDS. They’ve raised over $250 million to date through the sale of (RED) products from iconic companies - like Apple and Starbucks – and from (RED) events. 100% of the money raised goes to work on the ground through (RED) Global Fund grants.

HOW ELSE CAN GUESTS SUPPORT?

They can text RED to 50555 and a $10 donation will be made to the Global Fund to fight AIDS with (RED). It costs as little as 40 cents a day to keep someone living with HIV alive – their $10 donation can help provide 25 days of life-saving medication.
